Come celebrate Canada’s 142nd birthday the best way we Canadians know how – in the great outdoors with good friends and cold beer.
Please join the Canadian Association of New York (CANY) for a “Canada Day Patio Party” on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 from 6:30-10:00pm at the Boat Basin Café (W79th Street and the Hudson River), one of New York’s finest treasures. All Canadians and friends of Canadians are welcome.
Admission is $10.00 for CANY Members and $20.00 for Non-Members, which includes a complimentary drink and hors d’oeuvres. A cash bar with drink specials will be available throughout the evening for our group. Advance payment is necessary because tickets will not be sold at the door. (NOTE: This event is now fully and completely SOLD OUT.)
As part of the CANY Membership Drive, all pre-paid CANY Members of CANY in attendance will receive a voucher for a free round-trip ticket from Porter Airlines, thanks to their generous support. Please scroll down for more information about CANY's distribution of the Porter voucher.

• Porter vouchers will be distributed to pre-paid CANY Members once they check-in and present photo identification (driver’s license or passport) at the registration desk for the Canada Day event (the registration desk will be open until 9:30pm that evening). CANY Members must be in attendance to receive their voucher (we will not be distributing vouchers to people asking to collect on behalf of family or friends).
• The Porter voucher can be redeemed for a free round-trip direct or connecting flight anywhere Porter flies between Newark, Toronto, Ottawa and/or Montreal, subject to flight availability. Flights must be used by December 31, 2009. Use of the Porter voucher may be subject to a $13.00 charge for taxes.
• CANY Memberships must be purchased by no later than Sunday, June 28, 2009 in order for ticketholders to be eligible to receive the Porter voucher at the Canada Day event. CANY Memberships will not be sold at the Canada Day event.
• The Porter voucher will only be available to those CANY Members who did not already receive this gift at a prior CANY Membership Drive event (e.g., March 31st Lounge Night, April 23rd Wine Tasting).
• Please respect the fact that the voucher is being provided as a gift to CANY Members thanks to the generosity of Porter Airlines. The Porter voucher is for personal use by CANY Members, bears no cash value and cannot be re-sold. Abuse of this privilege (e.g., trying to use or collect more than one (1) voucher, trying to sell the voucher on eBay or Craig’s List, etc.) will subject the voucher to cancellation.

Take the 1 subway to W79th St., walk as far west on 79th Street as possible, cross Riverside Drive on either side of the street. Walk underneath the green highway overpass bridge bridge. Staircases on either side will lead you down to the Boat Basin Cafe.
