One of Canada's most accomplished artists, Maurice Cullen's scene of Alberta is of the snow clad Rockies as seen from Banff and overlooking the Bow River.

About the artist: Born in 1866 in St. John's Newfoundland; lived in Montreal as a child; died in 1934 in Chambly, Quebec. In 1889, Cullen studied painting in Paris and then travelled to northern Africa. He returned to Canada in 1895. He was an instructor at the Art Association of Montreal and official artist for the Canadian War Memorials in 1918. Member of the Société Nationale, Paris.
