This kind of scene, including the red sands, the beaches, the fishing boats and the expanse of water in the distance recalls for both natives and visitors to the island their fondest memories of it.
About the artist: Born in Alberton, Prince Edward Island in 1898; died in 1982. Noted for paintings of Pueblo Indians, two of which are in the Smithsonian Institute in Washington. Designed posters for Canada during World War II. Portraits include: Mary Churchill, Lord Alexander and Admiral Leahy.
