Pilot depicted this well-known commercial centre, typical of the maritime province, with fading autumn trees in the foreground.
About the artist: Born in St. John's Newfoundland in 1898; died in 1967. President, R.C.A; twice winner of Jessie Dow Prize; D.C.L., Bishop's University. Exhibited in Canada, France, South Africa and United States; at the Coronation in 1937, Tate Gallery in 1938. Illustrated "Storied Streets of Quebec" by B. Davis. Best known for his paintings of Quebec City and the lower St. Lawrence.
