The Camp Scholarship Program
This program exists to provide meaningful and therapeutically beneficial camp experiences for emotionally disturbed, inner-city children who are in active mental health treatment at the Jewish Board of Family and Children’s Services, Inc. The Camp program relies on its ability to raise funds for its existence. The Camp Scholarships are viewed as an adjunct to the child’s overall therapeutic treatment plan. Scholarship requests are received by the JBFCS therapists who treat each child.Scholarships are then granted according to need and without regard to race or religion.

The Children’s Hope Foundation
This is a unique mentoring program that improves the lives of children and young people living with HIV and AIDS.The SuperFriends program is open to boys and girls aged 5 through 7,who are infected with or infected by HIV/AIDS. Their SuperFriends program work with young people who need individual attention, care and support from an elder who can be non-judgmental and a friend. These children are primarily referred to CHF by pediatric AID’s clinics and social service agencies in all five boroughs of New York.

The Terry Fox Run for Cancer Research
The Canadian Club of New York founded and organizes the annual Terry Fox Run for Cancer Research in Central Park supporting cancer research at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in Manhattan in the name of a true Canadian hero. True to the spirit of Terry Fox, the Run is a non-competitive 5K family fun run that emphasizes participation, raising funds for cancer research and celebrating Terry Fox’s legacy. Since its inception in 1994, the New York Terry Fox Run has raised more than $800,000 for cancer research and continues to grow each year. The 2004 Terry Fox Run for Cancer Research (New York) was held in Central Park on Saturday, October 16, 2004. We had great weather, a record number of participants and expect that the 2004 fund-raising for cancer research will be our highest annual total in the history of the Terry Fox Run in New York.
